“Therefore return to your God! Hold fast to love and mercy, to righteousness and justice, and wait [expectantly] for your God continually!”~Hosea 2:6
I really need this for every day of life. Sometimes we can be so impatient, that we forget that waiting is helpful. Sometimes we do not understand the reason behind the wait and we contort into balls of stress. Waiting is a time of peace and rest. We can rest knowing that God is taking care of all that concerns us. God wants good things for us. So as we wait it is important to stay focused on what is in front of us right now. When we take care of the things that we can, our wait will go smoother.
Waiting in my words is a huge, powerful lesson that not only transforms me, but it helps the person I am communicating with in that moment. I’m just beginning to grasp this concept, so you will have to work with me. I think I am just starting to fully realize that my mind holds so much, and so much comes to the forefront of my thoughts but I can actually just sit with them. I don’t have to share them all at once.
Today at my first trip to the grocery store, the cashier said “Do you have plans for tomorrow?” I replied “Huh?” She said “The big day?” I said “Oh, no I’m not doing anything tomorrow. That is one of the downsides of being single”. As I walked out of the store, I realized that I do have plans for tomorrow. Tomorrow will be a day of love for myself. So, I have a great day to look forward to.
I had some interesting discussions yesterday about the mind body connection. I decided that since what we take into our body and spirit is so strong, I need to listen to more positive things. So I have been deleting some junk out of my ipod. A friend told me about some great African music and I shared some great island music. I realized one of the reasons why I loved the music so much is because it was so peaceful and positive. It instantly put me in a good mood.
It is a truly beautiful day today. I had a great run, I did some yoga outside, and even did some swings on a tree. I love being in nature. It truly invigorates me.
I hope you have a great day and thank you for taking the time to check out my little space in the internet 🙂
As believers, we have a great resource that is God’s peace. It passes all understanding. It is a strong foundation. It calms any trouble that may come. As we come to the new year, we can tap into God’s peace in order to have more in our own spirit. Having peace in our hearts brings peace of mind and also comfort. When I have peace, I can stop and smell the roses. I can look on the bright side. I can be thankful for all that I have.
Here’s to more peace in the new year.
Shalom and Blessings
Everyone knows that we can go through life like a breeze or like a tornado. We have a choice. No matter what comes our way, the way we respond and choose to live speak volumes. Does it hurt us to live in peace and patience? No, it can just be really challenging sometimes.
There are a lot of things that I don’t have patience for. When I am in a mood or in a non patience moment, I have to rely on God to see me through. His will for my life does not involve drama or strife no matter how easy it seems for me. He desires for me to be calm and let His love fill me.
Shalom and patience to you 🙂
“The Lord gives strength to his people;
the Lord blesses his people with peace.”
Psalm 29:11(NIV) Amen
Happy November! Distraction can attack at any time. Don’t be discouraged by it. It may take time to make peace with it but it will happen. Whenever distraction hits, take a moment to take a deep breath and pray for God’s will to be done. Thank goodness God sees through all of the distraction that we may be consumed with. Every moment you take back from distraction and give to God is a reward of peace.
“Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.” Romans 8:33-34(NIV)
Some of us find it hard to get one moment of peace in our lives. Or is that to enjoy one moment of peace in our lives? I take peace breaks through prayer and meditation. Some say it is good to meditate for five minutes. I think its great if you can do it even for one minute because every minute counts.
I know its easy to blame others for not adding to our peace but its really not their job. Finding your own peace is an inside job. Its between you and your creator. It is the act of just slowing down and rejuvenating your body with a deep breath that can really help.
But you don’t have to take my word for it 🙂
“Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us,to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace.” Luke 1:78-79(NLT)
