A lot of times I view every problem that I have as major. Some days it seems like my expertise is making mountains out of molehills. When I focus so intently on a problem, it causes me to focus on God less. God is the source of my strength. I am not the source of my strength. I may have to keep repeating that to myself. When I have a problem and it seems like it is going to mountain status, I have to bring it to God. When I have a problem and it is at molehill status, I have to bring it to God. When I look at my problems from God’s point of view, things aren’t so bad. I can breathe, I can laugh, I can love. I can do all of these things freely without worry. I need to embrace those moments fully(I am going to work on that). I will always face some sort of problem but God will always be with me.

“Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, LORD. ” Psalm 89:15(NLT)
What a privilege it is to have God on our side. Knowing that no matter what is going on in my life, I have someone who understands me better than I understand myself. That is awesome and such a comfort. Knowing that God sees me better than I see myself is humbling. When I allow myself to be guided by God, things just seem to turn out better. I’m not as frustrated as I am when I think I run the show.
When I take the time to be grateful and thankful for all of my blessings, I feel so much better. I can embrace the joy that God gives me. I can live in the hope of a good future. Seeing God work in the lives of others is a testament to how good He is to all of us. I don’t have to feel envy or jealousy when I am thankful for someone else’s blessing.

“Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives” Galatians 5:25(NLT)
When you wake up and feel the whole world bearing down on you, that is a day for you to fill up with God’s strength. When you wake up and feel like everything is going to be ok, that is a day for you to thank God for strength. The Bible says that the rain falls on the just and the unjust, so we cannot think that just because we are believers that everything is going to be perfect all of the time.
God gives us strength for every day of our journey. We just have to decide if we are going to accept it. I find that when I wake up with an attitude of acceptance. Or when I pray for an attitude of acceptance, I am on my way to a better day. God is in control and I just have the opportunity to live with His grace.

“Search for the LORD and for his strength; continually seek him.” Psalm 105:4(NLT)
As believers we have our up days and down days. In both of those moments, it is vital that we draw closer to God in order to grow in his love and grace. If you ever need a quick gut check, just stop pray and ask God what His will is for you. Its a humbling experience.
I got some news yesterday that I didn’t know how to process. So I told myself, it will be ok, it will work out. I felt good for awhile until I told someone else about the news. Boy did a rage and dread fill me. So it was only then that I managed to stop and cry out to God about my frustration and how I needed Him. Then I was able to do a massive clean up of my room. I still have some things to straighten up but it looks way better than it was.
The point is, sometimes its just about perspective. Even though something that I cannot control can try to knock me down, I have to know and trust that God is in control and He didn’t bring me this far to have me fall into a hole.
“And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 5:20(NLT)
Good morning! The awesome thing about God is He never leaves us. Even in our darkest moments He is with us. If only I could be aware of that and live each moment in that love. All I have to do to know that God is with me is trust and believe. Because He knows my thoughts before I do. When I am worried or in fear, I just draw closer to Him and things start to come together.
Rejoice and know that God is with you 🙂
“And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus,[a] for he will save his people from their sins. “Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.” Matthew 1:21,23(NLT)
Some of us find it hard to get one moment of peace in our lives. Or is that to enjoy one moment of peace in our lives? I take peace breaks through prayer and meditation. Some say it is good to meditate for five minutes. I think its great if you can do it even for one minute because every minute counts.
I know its easy to blame others for not adding to our peace but its really not their job. Finding your own peace is an inside job. Its between you and your creator. It is the act of just slowing down and rejuvenating your body with a deep breath that can really help.
But you don’t have to take my word for it 🙂
“Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us,to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace.” Luke 1:78-79(NLT)
Awareness-everyone seems to have a different opinion of it. To me, being aware means seeing everything for what it truly is. To become aware involves stopping, opening our eyes and hearts, and seeing things as they are. Everything that I have is a gift from God. Am I truly living that way? Being aware means knowing myself(my thoughts, my feelings, my likes and dislikes). It takes patience, time, and effort but is totally worth it. I read something last night that is so similar to today’s reading. So now I know that I have to take my time and be aware today.
How are you showing awareness today?
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting righteousness” Psalm 139:23-24(NLT)
In times when we are struggling we may be quick to look to friends or family members to hear us vent and share our pain. Often times they are not able to understand or convey empathy toward what we are struggling with. In those times, it is important to lean on God. He is always available to listen to our concerns and heals our hurts.
Who are you looking to today?
“I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me. He freed me from all of my fears. Those who look to him will radiate with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces. In my desperation I prayed, and the LORD listened”. Psalm 34:4-6(NLT)
Living life as a believer is filled with ups and downs because we aren’t in heaven yet. I know, shocker right? The Psalms do a great job of showing how we can praise and give thanks through a variety of circumstances. I find that when I am going through it the most, those are the times I am closest to God.
How do you bring the sacrifice of praise?
“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing”. James 1:2-4(NLT)
Sometimes you just need to breathe deeply and take it easy. There are so many things to distract ourselves with and our brains are working on overload. Take time to pause and reflect on your life, your joy, your spirit.
“Be still and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world”. Psalm 46:10 NLT
